ChiTransit (chitransit.us) is an independent website that helps people get around Chicago and its suburbs by CTA 'L' train and bus, Metra commuter rail and Divvy bike. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) or any other transit operator.

How we work

• Schedule and service data come from public feeds published by the CTA, Metra and Divvy. Our servers download them, store them and compute trips on our own server. See data sources.
• Guides (airports, fares and Ventra, Metra, Divvy, accessibility) are written from official sources only. Each page lists its sources and the date we last checked them. When we cannot confirm a fact on an official page, we leave it out.
• No paid placement: we do not accept payment to rank a service or rewrite a recommendation.
• Our own design: our logo and line badges are our own, and our maps are drawn from OpenStreetMap data. We do not use agency logos, official route symbols or official maps.

Independence

ChiTransit is an independent website and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or licensed by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA), Metra, Pace, the Northern Illinois Transit Authority (NITA, formerly the RTA), Ventra or Lyft/Divvy. Their names are used only to describe their services. Transit data is obtained from public open data feeds and stored on our servers; it may not be real time and is provided as is. For official information, use the operators' own channels.
